Venetian Terrazzo style of DB Light Precast Collection



 

The "weight" element of the Terrazzo alla Veneziana Precast slabs can be a stumbling block in some ambitious projects. Danilo Ballaustra, in order to satisfy the sophisticated design needs, has created the new DB Light Precast production line that allows to lighten the realizations.

The new construction technique consists of a sandwich composed of a Honeycomb honeycomb aluminium honeycomb panel and a 20 mm thick Venetian-style Precast Terrace sheet.  After a few days necessary for the drying of the gluing between the two elements, the panel thus composed is processed, removing the greatest possible thickness of Terrazzo and using the slab of Honeycomb as a load-bearing structure. In this way it is possible to produce a lightweight panel of Terrazzo alla Veneziana of only 28 mm thickness and a weight of 25 kg. per square meter.

The DB Light Precast line allows a 50% weight saving compared to the same processing performed with the traditional technique of the DB Precast line.

Danilo Ballaustra is thus able to create the Terrazzo alla Veneziana suitable for decorating refined environments where weight becomes a very important factor for the management of particular needs, such as, for example: 

  • Countertops
  • Coatings for lifts
  • Elements of furniture in elegant cruise ships
