The floors of DB-TECK collection are made by Danilo Ballaustra with particular care and attention because they are processed by combining the technical characteristics of the resins with the special cement binder assembled, in the right dose, with marble granulates.

Mr. Ballaustra checks each worksite during the inspection phase evaluating the most suitable production process to realize and pays great attention to the preparation of the existing screed or floor since it is one of the essential elements for the successful installation of Terrazzo Teck.

In its processing it is expected the sanding of the surface, if necessary; a coat of insulating and adhesive resin is spread; a PVC or fiberglass reinforcement mesh is laid; at last, lightly dust the surface with fine marble or quartz grit to improve the adhesion of the sowing.

In the case of floors or screeds in less than optimal conditions, a further smoothing with epoxy screed is performed to improve the mechanical characteristics of the support.

From the day after, the Teck Terrazzo can be sown. The mixture is spread, in the correct variable quantities also in relation to the atmospheric temperature, composed of: a mixture of marble granules of various sizes and colors with reference to the chosen sample, an epoxy resin adequately formulated on an water-base, a special cement binder.

The thickness of Venetian Terrazzo made in the DB Teck Collection can range from 1cm to 1.2cm, depending on the size of the marble granulate used.

After 8 days of drying, it proceeds at a first sanding with big abrasive support, grouting and subsequent polishing with fine abrasive support and oxalic acid. This last processing step allows the delivery of finished floor.
